Who we are
South Saint Paul Express Plumbing is a 24/7 emergency plumbing line serving South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Mendota Heights, Newport and Cottage Grove in Minnesota. Our address is 103 Concord Exchange N, South St. Paul, MN 55075.
We focus on the calls people make when something is going wrong: backed-up drains, failed water heaters, burst pipes, leaks and sewer problems. We also handle planned work such as installations, repiping and sump pump replacement.
How we work
Every job starts with a conversation about what is happening. A dispatcher asks about the symptoms, the age of the house and what you have already tried. A plumber then diagnoses the problem and explains the work and the price before starting. If the fix is small, we say so. If a part is past saving, we explain why.
- Clear price before work starts
- Same-day appointments when available
- Serving South Saint Paul and nearby towns
- Licensed and insured
Check a plumber's license yourself
Minnesota keeps a public record. The Department of Labor and Industry runs a license and registration lookup where you can search plumbers and plumbing contractors by name. We encourage you to use it for any plumber you hire, including us.
Why local rules matter
Plumbing in Minnesota follows Minnesota Rules chapter 4714, which is based on the 2018 Uniform Plumbing Code with state amendments. Cities add their own rules for sewer laterals, sump pump discharge and permits. Our service area pages explain the differences town by town. Our services pages show what we do and how each job is priced.
What a typical call looks like
You call the 24/7 line and a dispatcher answers. They ask for your address, what is happening, whether water is still running and whether anyone is in danger. If you can reach the main shutoff, they walk you through closing it. If there is a gas smell, they tell you to leave the house and call Xcel Energy at 1-800-895-2999 or 911 first.
The dispatcher then books the earliest visit available. For active leaks and sewer backups that is usually the same day. For planned work, such as a new water heater or a repipe, we schedule a day that fits yours. A plumber arrives, finds the cause and explains the work and the price before starting.
How we think about pricing
We do not post a price list, because the same symptom can be a small repair or a large one. A slow drain may be a hair clog or a root-filled sewer line. A cold shower may be a thermostat or a failed tank. Each service page explains the factors that move the price, such as access, parts, permits and after-hours dispatch, so you can judge a quote from any company.
Homeowners insurance often covers water damage from a sudden burst or backup, but rarely the worn pipe or part that caused it. We say that plainly on the pages where it matters, and we suggest you call your insurer before repairs start when a claim is possible.
Where we work
Our home base is South St. Paul, where the city runs its own water utility from municipal wells and the owner is responsible for the private sewer line to the main. We also serve West St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Mendota Heights, Newport and Cottage Grove. Each of those towns has its own water supply and its own rules on sewer laterals and sump pumps, so each has a page of its own.
When you call, give us your street address. We confirm coverage on the phone and tell you honestly how soon a plumber can arrive. If your home is near a town line, we check which city rules apply before we book.
Our promise on information
Every local fact on this site comes from a city, county or state source, such as a city utility page, a water quality report or a state rule. When a source does not publish a number, we say so and suggest you test your tap or ask the utility. We would rather leave a gap than guess, because a wrong number about your water or your sewer can cost you money.
What this site does not claim
You will not find star ratings, customer counts or years in business here. We would rather show you how we work, what the city and state say about your pipes and how to reach us. Questions are welcome at contact@expressplumbersouthsaintpaul.com.
